Social Media Boycotts Black Friday in Support of Brown Friday

After the disturbing decision the Ferguson grand jury came to Monday social media became a platform for a peaceful protest.

In an attempt to #HitEmWhereItHurts, people from all over the nation have decided to boycott the busiest shopping day of the year, commonly known as Black Friday. Instead, those outraged by the jury’s decision are urging people to support Brown Friday, honoring the life of Mike Brown, by buying “black” this upcoming Friday– black-owned businesses that is.

With the knowledge that African-Americans have a current buying power of 1 trillion, according to Nielsen’s report, people are now even more aware of how they can make a difference and stand for justice peacefully.

Vixens, will you be participating in Brown Friday this year?
