Kanye West and Phylicia Rashad to be Honored at 2015 BET Honors

Despite personal opinion, Kanye West is revered as an accomplished African-Americans that has made an impact .

‘Ye is set to receive BET’s first “Visionary Award” at their 2015 BET Honors show. Also to receive an award is our favorite TV mom, Phylicia Rashad. She’s receiving the “Theatrical Arts Award” for her longevity in theater. Usher, who rose to stardom in the ’90s, will be accepting the “Musical Arts Award” for his impressive twenty years in the industry.

Other recipients to be honored include Director of the National Museum of African Art in Washington D.C. and Johnnetta Betsch Cole, Spelman College’s first African-American female president. Microsoft Chairman, John W. Thompson will also be honored with the “Technology and Business Award.”

Set to air February 23, 2015 at 9pm, the 2015 BET Honors will be hosted by Wayne Brady.
