Kanye West And Usher To Receive 2015 BET Honors Awards

Kanye West and Usher are set to receive major accolades from BET. Both will be among the honorees at the 2015 BET Honors. Earning the network’s Visionary Award at the upcoming awards show, West is being recognized for his futuristic additions to culture across several mediums.

“Kanye West will be honored for his extraordinary contributions across the arts, including roles as a record producer, rapper, filmmaker and fashion designer,” BET states on West. “He’s a multifaceted trailblazer and pioneer whose accomplishments are all marked by his unique and forward-thinking approach.”

Usher’s 20-year career earns him the Musical Arts Award, acknowledging his feat of selling over 30 millions as his classic Confessions album. In good company, Usher joins the likes of Aretha Franklin, who was given the honor last year.

“It’s been two decades since Usher stormed onto the scene with his self-titled debut,” BET stated. “Since then, he has sold over 30 million records, including the RIAA Diamond certified Confessions. Because of the mark he has left on music and his grind that has no quit, the “Good Kisser” singer will be honored with the Musical Arts Award.”

The 2015 BET Honors airs on Feb 23. The show will be hosted by Wayne Brady.
