"Does it make sense that he would resort to committing crimes when he has the world in the palm of his hand?" his attorney said. "It's ridiculous." The police found 21 guns within the facility, and allegedly $52,000 worth of cocaine. The 20-year-old emcee's lawyer also said, “The government hates rap and by extension hates rappers. If his name was Joe Blow, they’d have given him a desk-appearance ticket or cut him loose from the precinct.” Shmurda's charges also include reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of narcotics, and conspiracy to commit second degree murder. The "Hot Boy" rapper signed his first major label deal with Epic this year due to his rise to fame on social media.
