Bobby Shmurda Spends Christmas Behind Bars, Awaits Bail Posting

News

Contrary to initial reports that Bobby Shmurda’s $2 million bail would be put up by his Epic Records label, the Brooklyn rapper remains behind bars. Spending Christmas on NYC’s Riker’s Island, Bobby was visited by family, as he awaits his freedom. His attorney, Howard Greenberg, recently gave The Fader an update on the case.

With regards to the rapper’s bail, Greenberg gave no update on Epic fronting the cost. Instead, he remarked that another course of action is being looked into.

“There is no news. We’re just trying to put something else together now,” he said.

Sharing that he was on his way to visit Bobby, Greenberg also discussed the extensive indictment documents released against the rapper and his G29 squad. As the rapper faces charges for conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and criminally using drug paraphernalia, Greenberg referred to the charges as “bullshit.”

“I’ve analyzed the indictment down to the bone,” he said. “It’s just talking. Bobby shouldn’t be charged with anything. I have told your colleagues in the media, the indictment is a bunch of bullshit. First 41 pages are just kids talking, in not even english. Bobby isn’t charged with anything except talk in the indictment.”

Greenberg also assured that he would not let authorities “crucify” Bobby Shmurda. He noted that although he is being referred to as GS9’s leader, the rapper has not been charged with any violence. He continued to discredit the case against his client.

“My guy’s rich, he’s busy. He’s always on tour. He’s supposedly leader of this crew, but he’s not charged with any violence. Use your head, it doesn’t make any sense. I’m not going to let them crucify Bobby Shmurda.”
