DJ Mustard Childhood Friend Sues For Royalties
DJ Mustard’s “Don’t Tell Em” banger has an underlying secret: it’s not entirely DJ Mustard on the beat. It’s also his childhood friend and co-producer, Mike Free.
Free claims that Mustard hasn’t been giving credit where credit is due, (not even a penny) for a series of hit songs that they both co-produced. The list includes Big Sean’s “IDFWU” anthem, Tyga’s “Rack City” and “I’m Different” by 2 Chainz.
TMZ reports that Mike Free wants his cut of royalties and proper producing credit so bad, that he’s looking to file a heavy lawsuit against the hit record producer. They both made a pact prior to producing music in the game that Free would come up with the ideas, while Mustard supplied the connections.
In September, DJ Mustard was also sued for Jamie Foxx’s “Party Ain’t A Party” single. Dijon may not be so sweet.?
