Dr. Dre Beats Beyonce By A Landslide Atop Forbes' 'Highest Paid Musicians' List
Once again, Dr. Dre makes us all want to reevaluate our lives (and our funds) by topping Forbes' 2014 list of the World's Highest Paid Musicians. We all saw this bit of news coming months ago, but that doesn't mean the feat isn't worthy of another round of applause.
After making a game-changing sale of his Beats Electronics to Apple for a cool $3 billion, Dr. Dre snagged the number one spot on the list with a whopping total of $620 million before taxes. He also sprinted by Beyonce, the No. 2 spot holder, by the lists largest margin in history. Half a billion dollars separated him from Mrs. Carter, who amassed $115 million this year from her world tour, Pepsi and H&M endorsements and everybody's favorite surprise album.
Further down on the list, her hubby Jay Z tied with Diddy and Bruno Mars at No. 12 earning $60 million.
The younger generation also made an impressive impact on the list. Despite all his angsty post-teen shenanigans, Justin Bieber held down the No. 6 spot on the list earning $80 million. One Direction followed behind with $75 million, Calvin Harris was No. 9 with $66 million, Taylor Swift was No. 11 with $64 mullion and Rihanna landed at No. 18 with $48 million.
