He's a Star! Pharrell Honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Topping off his year of accolades, Pharrell ends 2014 with a Hollywood star.

Pharrell was finally honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday (Nov. 3) in the recording category after an incredibly impressive two decades in the entertainment industry.

Skateboard P first made his mark as one-half of the mega-producing group, The Neptunes. He ventured to become the man behind the clothing lines, Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream, the songwriter to hit artists, a singer/rapper himself and a philanthropist. Comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres presented the multifaceted creative with the star, making Pharrell the 2,537th recipient and only the 4th rapper to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Surrounded by his family, wife Helen Lasichanh, and 6-year old son, Rocket, Williams thanked his teachers from Virginia Beach. He also gave a special thanks to Ellen. In his speech, Williams said DeGeneres was the first to play his hit-single, “Happy” before any radio station. The song went on to hit number 1 on iTunes in 103 countries worldwide.

Congrats P! If you’re in the area, you can find his star at 6270 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the W Hollywood Hotel.
