J. Cole Might Have The Biggest Hip-Hop Album Sales Week Of 2014
No promotion. No singles. Just Jermaine Cole. "Apparently," that was all J. Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive album needed. Moving to the top of the iTunes charts on its release date, the rapper’s third solo offering is shaping up to have the best first week sales in hip-hop of 2014, according to Hits Daily Double. Slated to sell between 240,000 and 270,000 copies, 2014 Forest Hills Drive will is track to move more units than Rick Ross’ Mastermind, which currently holds the year’s biggest selling week in hip-hop with 179,000. Trailing behind the two is Eminem’s Shady XV, which pulled in 130,000 in its first week. SEE ALSO: J. Cole Apologizes For His Selfish Ways In ‘Apparently’ (Video) But either way, J. Cole is not concerned with the predictions surrounding his first week. He took to Twitter yesterday with this:
I dont believe in their projections. And I dont believe in their reviews. Good or bad. I believe in God, in myself, in the music and in you.
