Jessie J, Luke James And Dru Hill Sing Out Against Racist Police

Features

Ever since the masses found out about Jessie J and Luke James courtship, the demand for a soulful duo has been voiced on numerous occasion. The first taste of their joint sound has finally materialized, but under noble, protest-driven circumstances. In light of all the racial tension and acts of violence stemming from the nation’s various police forces, actor Samuel L. Jackson is calling on celebrities to stop being complacent and use their star power to bring awareness to these issues. In a video PSA via his Facebook page, he asked that they make the following lyrics go as viral as the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge they were gung-ho about a few months ago: I can hear my neighbor cryin’ ‘I can’t breathe’ Now I’m in the struggle and I can’t leave. Callin’ out the violence of the racist police. We ain’t gonna stop, till people are free. We ain’t gonna stop, till people are free.

Jessie and Luke took on the challenge as a pair. With their backs to each other, they sang at the same time into their own phone cameras. Talk about cute and impactful at the same damn time.

Then R&B group Dru Hill made the rendition their own with soulful riffs and harmonies galore (they did that). Hopefully other celebs will get onboard and spread the message.
