John Legend And Common Beg For ‘Glory’ On New ‘Selma’ Track
John Legend and Common come together to pay musical tribute to the lives of Eric Garner and Mike Brown for their new single “Glory” from the Ava DuVernay directed film Selma.
Legend’s powerful voice begs for glory on the gospel-soul drenched single, while Common raps about Rosa Parks, marching in Ferguson and believing it’ll take the wisdom of the elderly, plus the energy of the young to achieve justice.
Written by Paul Webb and produced by Brad Pitt, Selma takes place in Selma, Alabama in 1965 a examines the efforts and sacrifices made to achieve equality during a time of blatant discrimination.
