Kardinal Offishall Delivers 'The K'Intro' (Video)
Kardinal Offishall was one of the first Toronto acts to break through to America's hip-hop market back in the early 2000s. That's a fact. Now free to craft his own music sans label restrictions and more, Offishall has seen a growth in his personal life. He's married now, a father of two children and sits as the Executive Creative Director of A&R for Universal Music Canada. All of those superlatives and achievements are just notions that the winds surrounding the once underground TDot emcee are changing.
He's set to release a brand new EP, Kardi Gras Vol. 1, his first full length project since 2012's AMTRIM tape with Nottz. "K'Into", the lead track from the project is pensive and melancholy as Offishall drapes himself in a black and white hue, suited and overlooking the view from his hotel balcony. Surveying all that he can see, the Toronto emcee figures to split his next two releases into different arenas, one looking at the world at large and the second, a more rooted and traditional rap LP.
