Kobe Bryant And The Lakers Don The Eric Garner ‘I Can’t Breathe’ Protest Shirt
And so it continues.
Kobe Bryant and the L.A. Lakers donned the Eric Garner protest “I Can’t Breathe” T-shirt during Tuesday night’s pre-game warm up at the Staple Center against the Sacramento Kings. Kobe and his squad are the latest high-profile athletes to use their platform and show support to Garner and his family.
Monday (Dec.8) Lebron James along with several players from The Brooklyn Nets also wore the black-and-white Tshirts, and Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose was the first NBA player to sport the shirt Saturday night during his warm up against the Golden State Warriors.
Earlier today NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said he would prefer if players would wear their on-court attire and not the protest T-shirt. Well, sir, I’m almost certain black people would prefer not getting killed by law enforcement…so yeah…about that.
