LeBron James Wants An ‘I Can’t Breathe’ T-Shirt Too

LeBron James is looking to be the next athlete to take a public stance on the non-indictment of Eric Garner’s killer. After his fellow NBA star Derrick Rose donned an “I Can’t Breathe” t-shirt during warmups on Saturday night (Dec. 6), the Cleveland Cavalier gave the Chicago Bull kudos, and remarked that he wants a shirt as well.

“It was spectacular,” James said about Rose’s shirt, which he wore in pre-game warmups Saturday night. “I loved it. I’m looking for one.”

The “I Can’t Breathe” mantra has been employed during protests for Garner, as it was the victim’s last words before being choked to death by an NYPD officer this past July. Now signifying the injustice behind his death, Rose donning the statement on court made national headlines, though he made no explicit remarks.

James and the Cavaliers take on the Brooklyn Nets tonight. Stay tuned to see if he copped his shirt.
