Mathew Knowles On Selling Beyonce Memorabilia: ‘If I Needed Money, I Wouldn’t Sell $5 T-Shirts’

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player Mathew Knowles piled on more negative press this week when a garage sale took place outside of his Music World Entertainment Complex in Houston. Selling off boxes of Beyonce, Destiny’s Child and Solange memorabilia, reports accused Knowles off trying to rake in extra cash following his child support lawsuits. But he stated that this wasn’t the case. “Somehow that became we are going out of business, homeless and selling all of Beyoncé’s stuff to stay alive, which as you can see it’s just the opposite,” he told a local NBC news station. Giving a tour of his headquarters – which houses awards won by his superstar daughter – Knowles remarked that he had other items he could sell if he were really strapped for cash. “If I needed money, I wouldn’t sell $5 T-shirts,” he said. “I’d sell a Grammy or an MTV award. So that is insulting to think we need to sell $5 T-shirts. No, I don’t think so.” Knowles estimates that he will make a total of $2,000 from his garage sale. Watch the news report above.
