Heartbreaking Song Released Mocks The Death Of Michael Brown
“Michael Brown learned a lesson about a messin’ with a bad … police man,” Gary Fishell a former federal investigator jubilantly sang. The Elk Lodge member debuted his Mike Brown remake of Jim Croce’s ’70s hit “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown” last weekend (Dec. 15) at a private golf tournament charity dinner held at the Elks Lodge in Glendale, CA.
“He thought they would get a kick out of it,” Fishell’s lawyer told TMZ. They were the first to published the heartbreaking song that mocks the death of the unarmed teen murdered by Darren Wilson in Ferguson, MO.
Event organizer, Joe Meyers, a retired LAPD officer created the parody of a ’70s Jim Croce hit “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown” in heartbreaking lyrics that read:
“And he’s, bad, bad Michael Brown
Baddest thug in the whole darn town
Badder than an ol’ King Kong
Meaner than a junkyard dog
Two men took to fightin’
And Michael punched in through the door
and Michael looked like some old Swiss cheese
His brain was splatter on the floor”
The LAPD does not believe the event raised money for the force and is currently conducting an investigation. The Elks Lodge released a statement, which states, “The Glendale Elks Lodge does not condone activities which are offensive or insensitive in nature. This incident is currently under investigation by lodge officers and immediate action will be taken against those responsible.”
