Set Your DVRs: ‘Nas: Time Is Illmatic’ To Air Friday

If you missed the TriBeca screening of Nas: Time Is Illmatic, it’s all good. Showtime is set to air the full documentary at 9p.m, Friday, Dec. 12.

The 74-minute film follows Nas through his Queensbridge neighborhood as he recalls what went into creating his 1994 debut album. Written by Erik Parker and directed by One9, Mr. Jones speaks candidly about growing up with both his parents in a loving home during the crack era, losing his best friend and then channeling all the hurt and negativity of his surroundings into lyrical hip-hop gold.

The film also features commentary from the likes of Alicia Keys, Busta Rhymes and Skateboard P. Praised for its in depth look into a hip-hop classic, Time Is Illmatic is a definite must see for any music enthusiast.
