Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 3) A Staten Island grand jury announced there would be no indictment against the officer responsible for placing Eric Garner in a chokehold, which led to his death. According to the New York Times, the grand jury deliberated for less than a day and found there wasn’t sufficient evidence to indict 29 year old officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of 43 year old, father of four. The ruling was a slap in the face for many who watched the viral footage of the chokehold this past summer, and since the ruling many have taken to the streets to protest, including Roc Nation artist J.
