Music Industry Heavyweights Educate at The Deal Makers Conference

It was a big day this past weekend (Jan. 24) for unsigned artists, aspiring entrepreneurs, and music fans in Cleveland, Ohio. They were granted a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be heard and possibly discovered at the second Deal Makers conference.

Presented by The Ravenel Agency—a talent, branding, and lifestyle company based in New York—the conference gave select artists in the area, a chance to showcase their work to major label executives and big names in media. Attendees also snagged a chance to hear some knowledge from industry heavyweights from a panel workshop.

Amber Ravenel, founder/CEO of The Ravenel Agency said bringing the Deal Makers Conference to the Midwest was imperative after stumbling across tons of undiscovered talent in the region.

“I wanted to expose Cleveland, OH to the real deal makers of the business. My aim was for attendees is to not only learn from seasoned professionals, but to gain insight on the do’s and don’ts of the business,” Ravenel said. “Participants also were afforded the opportunity to get a record deal on the spot; all of which has happened at the DMC to my delight.”

Hosted by Rose D of This is 50 and Its Bizkit, conference leaders included Lenny Santiago (Vice President of Roc Nation), Eric Parler, (Senior VP of Music Development at Def Jam), Young Sav of Maybach Music, and Steve Carless (President of CTE/Atlantic Records). Other media notables at the event were Karen Civil, Vanessa Satten (EIC of XXL Magazine), Reggie Hawkins (SiriusXM), Alvina Alston, CEO of More Media, LLC, DJ Steph Floss, DJ K-Nyce, and Ryan Wolf to name a few.

Karen Civil also spoke about the importance of the DMC to local artists saying,
