Don't You Drop That Alcohol: Proven Hangover Cures
Long live the turn up. After a much needed ladies night after a long, stressful work week, margaritas and cocktails are usually on deck. But what's unwelcoming about a night of fun is the nasty hangover- the headache, dizziness and body aches- that tend to plague your body the next day.
The only way to avoid a pounding head and queasiness the morning after is to drink in moderation, or to stay away from alcohol entirely. Well, sometimes when it's "bottoms up" and shots are being brought, it's hard to turn down free booze. But the key is truly simple: know your limits and drink in moderation, right? But before you turn up for the weekend, we got you.
We gathered simple hangover cures and preventive measures to get you through the weekend for round two.

H2O is a MUST. Before passing out into bed, down 16 to 20 ounces of water. The next time you go out, drink a glass of water with every drink and alternate between the two to replace lost fluids as you go.
Remember when your mom gave you toast as a kid when you couldn't keep anything down? Take this good advice as an adult, too. While no food can completely stop the roller coaster in your stomach, carbs can help bring your blood sugar levels back up the morning after, making you feel better overall.
Avoid coffee. Sure, at first thought you may think a dose of caffeine will wake you up and give you the boost it rightfully needs. But it ends up tiring you out more after a brief high. Pass on that latte and grab some aqua instead.
Muster up all your strength, grab those eggs and get to cooking. Eggs are an effective hangover cure as they contain cysteine which helps break down acetaldehyde (one of the toxins that cause hangovers).
If your head is throbbing, it's easy to grab an aspirin to ease the pain after a night of drinking. Instead, try Vitamin C. It's a strong antioxidant that can help to minimize side-effects of heavy alcohol consumption.
The best cure overall? Drink responsibly. But if the party is just too jumping and you cannot resist, limit your drinks to about one every hour. It takes your body about 60 to 75 minutes to metabolize each alcoholic drink in about 60 to 75 minutes. Oh, and no drinking on an empty stomach.
