Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao Fight Reportedly A ‘Done Deal’
It looks like Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao’s recent meeting was the jolt the two fighters needed to get the ball rolling. According to TMZ, the fight we’ve all been waiting for has finally been agreed to.
Reportedly arriving to their decision last night (Jan. 30), Mayweather and Pacquiao’s fight has been scheduled to go down in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand. Originally proposed as a May 2 bout, the date for the fight has not been divulged, but there were only a few slots left on Showtime’s schedule. As Pacquiao remains under contract with HBO, the two networks have expressed an interest in doing a dual pay-per-view broadcast (so you know it’s real).
Coming face-to-face for the first time in Miami earlier this week (Jan. 27), the boxing champs exchanged numbers to negotiate their highly-anticipated match. Pacquiao has already agreed to terms regarding the upcoming bout, including drug testing by the United States Anti-Doping Agency and wearing his own brand of 8-ounce gloves. Negotiators are reportedly putting the “final touches” on the deal.
Mayweather and Pacquiao are now expected to make a formal announcement soon.
