Joey Bada$$ To Continue New Zealand Tour Amidst Assault Charge
The show must go on for Joey Bada$$. The Brooklyn native was cleared to continue his performance trek Down Under despite a looming assault charge he picked up in Australia.
According to Immigration New Zealand spokeswoman Rachel Purdom, the 19-year-old emcee hasn't been found guilty of a crime that fails to meet the country's "good-character standard," Billboard reports.
The "Unorthodox" rapper came into trouble with Aussie police on Friday (Jan. 2) during his performance at the Falls Festival where he allegedly assaulted a security guard who endured a broken nose injury.
Before he heads to NZ, the Pro Era leader will finish up his performances in Melbourne and Sydney this week. Joey is also planning the release of his debut album B4. Da. $$ on Jan. 20.
