Oprah Winfrey Expresses Support For Eric Garner And Mike Brown Protesters
Oprah Winfrey came under fire last week for what some believed to be her criticism of the lack of leadership surrounding the Eric Garner and Mike Brown protests.
Tuesday evening (January 6) at the New York City premiere of Ava DuVernay's directed film Selma, Oprah who plays Annie Lee Cooper, a Civil Rights activist best known for punching Selma Sheriff Jim Clark in the face, spoke in depth with Revolt TV about her support of the protesters.
However, Oprah--who did not receive a nomination from the Producers Guild Award---drew a comparison between the film and America's current social climate and what she believes is missing from today's protests.
