Suge Knight Claims Alleged Meeting With Dr. Dre Led To Fatal Hit-And-Run
Suge Knight has been charged with murder in the hit-and-run killing of actor Terry Carter on Thursday (Jan. 29). Turning himself in to authorities yesterday, (Jan. 30), the former Death Row CEO now alleges that the incident was a result of a supposed meeting with Dr. Dre.
Before heading to the scene where Carter was killed, Knight was reportedly turned away from a commercial shoot for the upcoming Straight Outta Compton film. After an altercation with Dre’s security on set, Knight claims he was contacted by Carter, who invited him to a second location to bury the hatchet with Dre, TMZ reports. The 49-year-old former CEO claims he was jumped when he arrived and was attempting to flee, resulting in Carter’s death.
A source connected to Dr. Dre denies the mogul’s involvement in either incident, citing Knight’s recent shooting as the reason he was asked to leave the commercial set. Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department's expressed that Knight’s hit-and-run appeared to be intentional.
“It looks like he drove backward and struck the victims and then went forward and struck them again as he left,” Corina told KTLA. “It looked like it was an intentional act and would be treated as a homicide.”
