Young Thug (AKA Young Cleo) Always Knew Cash Money Was His Destiny
Ask just about any new rapper on the scene, and their influences usually trickle down to a select few: Jay Z, Nas, Eminem and, of course, Lil' Wayne. But what about a rapper predicting being able to work with who they admire most? We've seen it with Kid Cudi and Kanye, J.Cole getting a response from Nas, and Dre taking Kendrick Lamar under his wing. Young Thug is no exception. An interview from four years ago was recently resurfaced, and we definitely recognize that bottom lip piercing. A younger Young Thugger, with shorter locks and a heavily autotuned song blasting in the background, is sitting with a representative from the Atlanta-based Music Connectz Magazine. In the interview, the premature superstar predicts (and speaks into existence) his chance at working with his idol Lil' Wayne. Right now?" the interview asked, incredulously. "No," he replied with a grin, "but Young Money, I'm coming." Who knew the 19-year-old would eventually become the new face of Cash Money Records and Birdman's right hand?
