Dej Loaf Wants To Work With Missy, Nicki Minaj, Lil’ Kim, Remy Ma And Iggy Azalea

Dej Loaf discusses her dream collaborations, including working with Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj, Lil' Kim, Remy Ma and Iggy Azalea.

Dej Loaf doesn’t plan on slowing down stopping anytime soon. The 23 year-old Detroit native has received major thumbs up for her latest single “Try Me,” and has collected stamps of approval for her mixtape Sell Sole.

Now, she has her eyes set out for a slew of major dream collaborations with some of the rap game’s most valuable players. In a recent interview with Paper magazine, Dej named all the artists she’d like to work with.

“I have something in mind for Missy Elliot, Charlie Wilson and DMX. People you haven’t seen in a while and who I grew up listening to,” she revealed. “I definitely want to work with legends.”

In addition to Missy, the Detroit freshman also expressed a desire work with other female emcees, despite the “catty” nature of the female rap lane.

“It’s hard, the whole beef thing and females’ catty attitudes. We only have Nicki Minaj and maybe Iggy. You don’t have many female hip-hop stars at all,” she continued. “And I think that’s the reason, because everybody wants to be on top, like how the guys do it. But there is room for all of us. That’s how I’m approaching it until problems are presented to me and I feel like acting on them. I’ll just do Dej. I won’t feed into it. I got love for everyone. I want to work with Nicki Minaj, I would work with Iggy, I already said Missy Elliott. I’d love to work with Lil Kim. I already worked with Remy Ma. Remy Ma is like one of my favorite rappers—female rappers anyway.” – Richy Rosario

XXXTentacion's Posthumous Album 'Skins' Tops The Billboard 200

XXXTentacion's posthumous album Skins has topped the Billboard 200 albums chart, which marks the second time this year the late-20-year-old has held the number one spot. XXXTentacion was killed in Florida in June.

Skins is the first posthumous number one album since Prince's The Very Best of Prince, which catapulted to the top of the charts after his death in April 2016. XXX's album ? went No. 1 back in March 2018, and his first studio album 17 debuted at No. 2 in 2017.

Maroon 5 Scrambling To Find Guest Performers For Super Bowl Halftime Show

Between the NFL’s stance on the National Anthem and the league’s treatment of Colin Kaepernick, performing at the Super Bowl halftime show clearly isn’t as alluring as it used to be.

Maroon 5 has reportedly been scrambling to finding someone to share the stage with them at the Super Bowl LIII halftime show in Atlanta next month, but it’s not for lack of trying. The band is having trouble pinning down special guests because, “No one wants to associate themselves with the NFL,” US Weekly reports.

Cardi B,  who collaborated with the Maroon 5 on the hit single “Girls Like You,”  mulled it over, but ultimately turned down the Super Bowl invitation.

“It’s a no right now,” a source told the outlet of Cardi’s decision.

Andre 3000 and Mary J. Blige were approached to perform as well, per a Variety report. Blige was unable to commit due to scheduling issues. Other alleged names being tossed around include Usher, Lauryn Hill, Nicki Minaj, and Madonna.

Since Atlanta is a virtual hotbed of Black artists who were seemingly overlooked to headline the show, focusing on local talent might be Maroon 5’s safest bet. According to Variety, Migos and Lil Yachty could be in the running to fill the empty spot.

The NFL has yet to officially announce Maroon 5 as the halftime act. Meanwhile, a Change.org petition calling for the band to drop out of the show has received nearly 75,000 signatures.

Super Bowl LIII goes down Feb. 3, 2019, at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Rihanna’s Vocal Producer Refers To Her New Music As “Incredible”

It's been nearly three years since Rihanna dropped an album. Besides rumors that the 30-year-old singer will unveil a double project to boast a collection of reggae/dancehall songs while refraining from alienating her mainstream fan base, supporters haven't heard much.

But on Thursday (Dec. 13), a fan posted a video of vocal producer Kuk Harrell's Instagram Live where he said a few things about Rihanna's upcoming album. An Instagram user asked, "How's R9?" to which Harrell chuckles and says that he often gets bombarded with that question.

The vocal creative behind artists like Jamie Foxx, Janet Jackson, and Beyonce simply said that "R9" — being that it will be her ninth studio album — "…is great."

"R9 is amazing. It’s incredible. And that’s all I'm going to say," Harrell added.

The Bajan artist's last album, Anti, was released in January 2016 and topped the charts in America. The soundscape became another hit for the "Umbrella" singer, spawning four international top 10 singles and went platinum three times over in the U.S. No wonder the self-proclaimed Good Girl Gone Bad feels the pressure.

In October 2018, the singer-turned-entrepreneur/actress shared a meme on social media referencing how fans continuously heckle her about the new album: "I feel attacked. ***valley girl who’s never been attacked voice*** R9 chronicles."
