Pharrell Sails Into New G-Star ‘RAW For The Oceans’ Collaboration

The 41-year-old wunderkind Pharrell plans to make the Earth happy with his new clothing campaign.

Pha-Real has reunited with Dutch clothing brand G-Star Raw to create “Raw For The Oceans,” a new project that will create threads from recycled plastic bottles and garbage bags. No, this doesn’t mean rocking Glad bags on the street. Thanks to P’s frequent collaborator, Bionic Yarn, the Vortex Project, and Parley for the Oceans, the campaign aims to reduce the amount of plastic waste thrown into the oceans and turn it into eco-friendly fashion.

According to Rawrdenim, the Vortex Project studies show that the amount of plastic chucked into the ocean outweighs the amount of fish harvested 3:1 ratio per pound. So Pharrell decided it was time to do something.

“The oceans need us now,” he says.
