Pharrell Put A Church Spin On ‘Happy’ At The 2015 Grammy Awards
Who knew Pharrell Williams “Happy” jam could knock in church? The superproducer’s euphoric megahit got a cathedral update for Pharrell’s performance at the 2015 Grammy Awards. Rocking a bellboy costume (an ode to his appearance in the Chanel Reincarnation film?), Williams employed a choir for “Happy” on music’s biggest night. Complete with frequent collaborator, composer Hans Zimmer, the still repeat-worthy track was given a surprising artistic spin. The performance also featured a possible reference to the "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" movement. Williams snagged two awards for the night: Best Pop Song and Best Music Video.
