Coachella and Lollapalooza Festivals Say 'Or Nah' To Your Selfie Sticks
Your selfie is dangerous! No seriously, your selfie stick is now considered a weapon, according to Coachella and Lollapalooza festival organizers. (Guess you'll have to perfect those angles in the bathroom before the festival, ma.)
Lollapalooza didn't exactly ban the monopods, but they did specify they aren't putting up with your photo equipment crap. Tripods apparently are a compelling threat. Also, putting their bare-foot down this year, Coachella organizers banned selfie sticks and marked narcissistics in the same prohibition category.
A notion for banning the accessory started in London at arenas like Brixton and O2 Arena. Their goal was to prevent rioting against concert-goers blocking others' views and hitting people in the head. The trend is catching fire across the globe. In France, selfie-sticks are banned at the Palace of Versailles, D.C.'s Smithsonian, and New York's MoMA. Looks like we're going back to the old-school selfie game.
