Lil Wayne Takes A Subtle Shot At Birdman In New Young Money Freestyle
The Lil Wayne vs. Birdman saga continues…
After taking quite a few dabs at his longtime mentor on Sorry For The Wait 2, Weezy delivers a new slight aimed at Birdman during a freestyle session with his Young Money cohorts Lil Twist, Gutta Gutta, Cory Gunz and Mack Maine. To the tune of Freeway’s “What We Do,” references Tupac’s classic diss record “Hit ‘Em Up” in a brief mention of the Cash Money boss.
“I thank you for my hit man. And tell Pac I’m a big fan. I sing ‘Dear Mama’ to my dear mama, and sing ‘Hit ‘Em Up’ to my daddy bitch ass.”
News broke earlier this year of a whopping $51 million dollar lawsuit Wayne has launched at Birdman in regards to the delay of his Tha Carter V album. Wayne is also readying the release of a free LP, titled the Free Weezy Album, as another pacifier for fans who await news on the fifth Carter installment. And while tensions don’t seem to be easing up, at least one person is hopeful that the two will patch things up: Nicki Minaj.
“I am banking on the fact that they’re gonna work this out like family, they’ve gone through things before, just like family does, and it is what it is,” she recently said. They gonna get through it. I’m not even gonna think that way.”
Well, here’s to hoping. Watch Lil Wayne’s latest shot at Birdman in the video above.
