Nile Rodgers Brings That Old School Feeling Back On ‘I’ll Be There’


Last night (March 19), legendary singer/songwriter and CHIC band member Nile Rodgers appeared as a guest on American Idol.  While there, he shared a snippet of his new video “I’ll Be There.”  Today, the full length video premiered on Rodgers official Facebook page.

In the Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin-directed flick, supermodel Karlie Kloss—as in Taylor Swift’s best friend—finds herself getting her boogie on in her living room while watching old Soul Train shows and jaming to Rodgers “I’ll Be There.” The songs comes from Rodgers upcoming album It’s About Time, slated for a summer release.

Also, Rodgers has joined in a deal with Yahoo and Live Nation to launch a global live stream. So today, tuning into Yahoo Screen to watch Rodgers and CHIC perform “I’ll Be There” at London, England’s Roundhouse.

With a career that spans decades, Rodgers has worked with greats like Diana Ross, Madonna, Grace Jones and Duran Duran, to name a few.
