Snoop Dogg Will Be The First Rapper To Give A SXSW Music Keynote Address

If you are headed to Austin for this year’s South by Southwest festival, add Snoop Dogg’s tutelage to your schedule of must-be-there events. The coveted annual music event has tapped the West Coast O.G. for their 2015 Music Keynote address.

“Multi-platinum artist and entertainment icon Snoop Dogg is at the forefront of pop culture with award-winning albums and songs, multiple films, lifestyle products, philanthropic efforts and digital ventures, including his YouTube original series ‘GGN News,’” SXSW acknowledged in their announcement today (Mar. 10).

Joining the ranks of previous speakers such as Little Richard, Quincy Jones, Smokey Robinson and Lady Gaga, Uncle Snoop becomes the first hip-hop artist to fill the role. The conversation will be free for all Music and Platinum badge holders at the Austin Convention Center.
