SXSW 2015: A-Trak Brings The Jams To Mountain Dew’s ‘Green Label Live’ Show
In the corner of Textile, a turn-up appropriate gallery space at Austin’s SXSW Festival, DJ/producer A-Trak is going ham. Spinning hits after hits from Kanye West’s “All Day” (a popular crowd-pleaser) to hip-hop/dance classics, the Fool’s Gold captain is also letting rap’s rising stars and a trio of dudes twerking (the latter starred in Mountain Dew’s Super Bowl 2015 spot) shine on stage.
There was cause for celebration as Green Label Live recently teamed with Casablanca/ Republic to re-release A-Trak’s “Out The Speakers,” marking GSL’s first time partnering with a major record label to upstream a single. A-Trak hit the boards as former Green Label Sound artists Joey Bada$$, MNDR & Sweet Valley, Nick Catchdubs, Leaf, Brenman and new Green Label Sound signee Kelechi rocked the mic. Atlanta rapper Kelechi recently won Green Label Sound: Open Call, a nationwide search for up-and-coming talent.
