T.I. Announces New Album ‘Trap’s Open,’ Calls It ‘Unapologetically Gangsta’

Before becoming one of reality TV’s favorite dads, T.I. had quite the reputation for being a frequent occupant of the trap house (see: his 2003 breakout album Trap Muzik). Now, Tip is back on his trap game – musically, that is. In a recent sit down interview with HipHopSince1987, the Atlanta rapper revealed some details about his upcoming project.

“This next one is going to be unapologetically gangsta,” he said. “It’s trap music. And it’s called Trap’s Open.”

T.I. also revealed that Trap’s Open will be the second of a trilogy, following Paperwork: The Motion Picture.

Paperwork, man, it’s a trilogy,” he continued speaking of his last album, which was released back in October. “The first installment, The Motion Picture, was supposed to be cinematic; it was supposed to be nostalgic; it was supposed to, kind of, give an application of — how can I say — the sounds of yesteryear mixed with the hip-hop of today.”
