Chrissy Teigen Isn't Stretching The Truth About Her Body And Photoshop
When Chrissy keeps it real...
Amber Rose caused an uproar last month when paparazzi snapped what some called unflattering photos of the model mommy on the beach, in all of her dimpled booty glory. Since then, fans and celebs alike have continued the conversation on filtering pictures and photoshopping in the name of flawless curves. Now John Legend's better half, Chrissy Teigen, is weighing in on the buzz, after recently getting real about her own supermodel body on her Instagram.
She shared a photo of her praised, killer legs that with a few bruises, the result of bumping into items around her kitchen while working on her cookbook. She explained to talk show host, Meredith Viera that she didn't notice her thigh "stretchies" making a cameo in the picture and decided not to alter her appearance for a reason any Vixen can relate to.
"I was actually just taking a picture of the bruises and then I saw the stretch marks in there. I have those apps, the Facetune and Photoshopping ones, and I just didn’t feel like doing it anymore–and I’m never doing it again, because I think we forgot what normal people look like now," Teigen recalls.
"I mean, people are nip-tucking [their pictures]. It’s gotten to a point where they’re not smoothing their skin anymore, they are actually changing the shape of their body and everybody else," she says, getting candid about things women discuss in their circles.
"Nobody can compare to that when you’re fixing yourself so much. It started with Botox and everything, of course, but now it's just grown into this Photoshop phenomenon and I've seen these women in person, they are not like that. Please know that. I've shot in barely anything with them and it's just amazing what people do to tweak themselves," she further explained.
Sometimes we forget celebrities are still human, and it's refreshing to hear a supermodel, of all people, speak out on the perception of a perfect body on social media. Chrissy's words always resonates with us and it's great to know she relates to everyday Vixen struggles.
