Coachella 2015: Run The Jewels And Flosstradamus Kept The Energy Way, Way Up

News

Navigating through all the stages at Coachella is like playing Concert Survivor. Catching every act is a mission in and of itself and your only goal is to make it through the next performance. There are six stages spread out over nearly 280 acres of land — and with overlapping sets, you have to be swift on your feet.

Luckily, there’s enough 808-fueled sonic power to keep you moving from sun up to sun down. That’s exactly how we felt while maneuvering through day two (Apr. 11) at the 2015 festival. We owe a lot of our second wind energy to Run The Jewels and Flosstradamus. Diverse in their own rights, both duos turned burned out fans into dancing machines.

Killer Mike and El-P took the Mojave stage over with little remorse for the eardrums of the fans. And, they brought along an extremely diverse host of guests including — Zack De La Rocha, Gangsta Boo and Despot. These maniacs nearly blew out the speakers when the bass from “Lie, Cheat, Steal” dropped. Hip-hop gawds should be proud of the fellas.

No festival is complete without a killer DJ set, right? On the other side of the sprawling fields, Josh Young and Curt Cameruci of Flosstradamus blew out eardrums and sent electro and hip hop fans alike into a frenzy. In between biggin’ up their Chi-Town stomping grounds, they dished out bass shattering mashups like GTA & Juyen Sebulba’s “Hard House” mixed with French Montana’s “Pop That” and TNGHT’s “Acrylics” with Wiz Khalifa’s “We Dem Boyz.”
