DMX's Lawyer Calls New Jersey Robbery Allegation 'Absurd'

DMX is fighting back after being accused of playing the five finger discount on a hefty $3,200 from a New Jersey man.

After DMX was accused of robbing a 21-year-old man at a New Jersey gas station this past Easter Sunday (Apr. 5), he has decided to legally fight back with his lawyer Murray Richman.

The unnamed man claims that a member of DMX's crew demanded his money and showed him a gun after he had recognized the rapper and approached him. Allegedly, when he took $3,200 out of his pocket, DMX snatched it and drove off.

Richman told E! News that the accusations were “completely absurd.”

"DMX was leaving a show the Masters of Ceremony show at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center a very successful show, and he stopped for gas," Richman continued. "Four young men approached him for a photo. They took photos and they offered [DMX] drugs. He said no and told them to go...They had an argument and next thing you know, they are accusing him of robbery. Just nonsense."

Emmys 2019: Jharrel Jerome Wins Lead Actor For Role In 'When They See Us’

It was a celebratory and emotional moment for actor Jharrel Jerome as he received his first Emmy for Lead Actor in a Limited Series for When They See Us.

Jerome accepted the accolade Sunday (Sept 22) at the awards ceremony at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. In the series directed by Ava DuVernay, the Bronx native portrayed Korey Wise, one of the Exonerated Five who were falsly accused of a crime he and four others didn't commit. Visibly emotional, the 22-year-old gave thanks to his parents during his acceptance speech.

"I feel like I should just be in the Bronx right now, chillin,' waiting for my mom's cooking but I'm here," he said. "But I'm here in front of people I'm so motivated by."

The young actor was up against some of the best in the business such as Moonlight co-star Mahershala Ali (True Detective), Benicio Del Toro (Escape at Dannemora), Hugh Grant (A Very English Scandal), Jared Harris (Chernobyl) and Sam Rockwell (Fosse/Verdon).

Jerome also thanked Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and as he rightfully shouted "King" Korey Wise.

"Most important[ly], this is for the men known as The Exonerated Five," he said as the men stood on their feet. "Thank you so much. It's an honor, it's a blessing."

Watch the moment above.

TV Guide reports Jerome's win was "initially considered a lock," due to Chernobyl, the HBO series that won seven Creative Arts Emmys.

Florida Grandmother Incensed After Six Year Old Granddaughter Was Arrested For A Tantrum

A 6-year-old was arrested, fingerprinted and had her mug shot taken by Florida police for reportedly throwing a tantrum at her elementary school last week.

According to reports, Meralyn Kirkland learned her granddaughter Kaia was brought to the juvenile detention center in Orlando, Florida after she had an outburst.

“What do you mean she was arrested," Kirkland recalled. "He said ‘there was an incident and she kicked somebody and she is being charged and she is on her way,' ” Kirkland explained to local news outlets.

After explaining to the officer that Kaia has sleep apnea, Kirkland says the cop showed no concern.

“She has a medical condition that we are working on getting resolved and he says, ‘what medical condition?' she has a sleep disorder, sleep apnea,’ and he says, ‘well I have sleep apnea and I don’t behave like that.”

Kirkland couldn't believe what was happening and couldn't believe a child had been arrested.

“They told us we had to wait a few minutes because Kaia was being fingerprinted, and when she said fingerprinted it hit me like a ton of bricks,” Kirkland said.

“No six year old child should be able to tell somebody that they had handcuffs on them and they were riding in the back of a police car and taken to a juvenile center to be fingerprinted, mug shot”

Kaia is back at home.

Texas Man Divorces Wife Without Her Knowing By Forging Paperwork

A Texas man wanted out of his marriage and instead of going through divorce proceedings, he faked his wife's signature on paperwork in turn ending their union without her knowledge.

The New York Daily News reports Paul Nixon submitted forged documents and false information to a Houston district court. Nixon also reportedly committed perjury when testifying in court during a divorce hearing. The divorce has been tabled due to the perjury and fraudulent documents.

The constable’s office started the investigation after Mrs. Nixon informed officials of the divorce that occurred without her knowledge.

Harris County Constable Mark Herman spoke with a local news outlet and said that a search for Mr. Nixon is underway as he is now wanted for aggravated perjury.

“We have teams out looking for him right now, I can tell you,” he told the station. “And we have an idea where he’s at. So hopefully, he’ll turn himself in. If not, we’ll catch him. Just a matter of time.”
