'Full House' Is Moving Into Netflix
Thanks to Uncle Jesse, Full House is making a comeback.
The classic '90s sitcom is headed to a Netflix queue near you, according to actor, John Stamos, who shall produce and guest star on the spin-off series called Fuller House.
ABC News reports:
The reboot – titled “Fuller House” – will star Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, with Stamos (Uncle Jesse on the original series) set to produce and guest star. According to the statement, discussions with additional “Full House” cast members Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin are ongoing.
"It's a labor of love and we've been literally trying for so many years to do it right and I think we've finally got it perfect," Stamos recently said on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
According to Stamos, the 13-episode series will begin with a one-hour special reunion before diving into the life of D.J. (Cameron Bure), who is a widowed veterinarian, living in San Francisco with her two children, her children, 12-year-old J.D. and 7-year-old Max, and a new baby on the way. D.J.'s younger sis, Stephanie Tanner (Sweetin), bestie Kimmy Gibbler (Barber), and Kimmy’s teenage daughter, Ramona, all move in to help mommy D.J.
While the Tanner family's precious moments (and Joey Gladstone impersonations) made for some Grade A cheese on television, producers of the Netflix reboot said in a statement that the on-screen chemistry will be an extension of the original cast's real love.
"The continued support of Full House fans of all ages for the last 28 years has been astounding,” the producers said. “It is an honor and a thrill to catch up with these beloved characters and explore their lives today. The love you saw on the show was real. The cast has remained a loving family off screen all these years. We are as excited as our fans to finally bring Full House back to life.”
And if the Olsen Twins fall through, Stamos already has a replacement in mind. He told Kimmel, “If we can’t get the Olsen twins, we’re going to dress you up."
