Here's What Michelle Obama Thinks About Her 'Influential' Daughters
Last year, TIME Magazine rounded up who they thought were the 25 Most Influential Teens of 2014. Malala Yousafzai, Mo'ne Davis, Jaden Smith, Lorde, and Kylie and Kendall Jenner all made the cut. So did the First Family's Sasha and Malia Obama.
One would assume President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama were proud parents of the moment, but Mrs. Obama sees very little reason to celebrate. While sitting down with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan at the White House's annual Easter Egg Roll, the First Lady deflected any congratulations on the honor. Instead, she jokingly questioned why her daughters were seen as influential.
"Yeah, I don’t know why [they’re on the list]," she said with a laugh. "They’re not influential. They just live here. They have done nothing to gain any influence."
Now that's how you keep it real, Mama Obama!
