Nelly Denies Possession Of Drugs In Tallahassee Arrest
Yesterday (Apr. 11), Nelly was taken into custody by police in Tallahassee after a search of his tour bus revealed possession of marijuana, meth and multiple firearms. Initially stopping the vehicle to inquire about its U.S. Department of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association sticker, officials said the smell of marijuana led to a search.
Now that the news of the rapper’s arrest has made it’s way across the Internet, Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, is working overtime to prove his client’s innocence. According to TMZ, Rosenblum is assuring that "Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered."
Citing that 15 to 20 people had access to the tour bus prior to the stop, and that multiple people were present during the arrest, the rapper’s lawyer is looking to separate him from the possible felony drug possession charges.
Nelly was released on a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 19, according to USA Today.
