A Selena Hologram Is On The Way And Might Be Going On Tour
First Tupac, then Michael, now Selena.
Late Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla-Perez will get her own hologram as it was announced on her official Facebook page.
Billboard contacted Selena’s sister Suzette to confirm the news. The hologram is reportedly being named “Selena The One,” and is described as a “walking, talking, singing, and dancing, digital embodiment” of the late singer.
The hologram will release new songs, videos, collaborate with artists and even aims to go on tour in 2018. The company responsible for the project is Nevada-based Acrovirt LLC, which is an independent tech company.
In support of the project’s creation an IndiGoGo campaign aspires to raise $500,000, the venture is also securing a media partnership from the San Diego Latino Film Festival.
Selena’s father Abraham Quintanilla told the Associated Press the project honoring his daughter was very complicated and costly.
"The prices are ridiculous and it requires the transportation of tons of equipment," he said after speaking with the San Diego based AV concepts. But now, the projects seems like its well on his way.
Well until hologram Selena is finished, watch footage of the Tejano star in concert below.
