Go Behind The Scenes Of Kendrick Lamar’s Stylish ‘Ebony’ Shoot
Aside from blessing us with an album that could achieve classic status later down the line, Kendrick Lamar is out here snatching these magazine covers. Last month, he flashed his grill on the front of Nas-affiliated Mass Appeal magazine. Now, the good kid is all over Ebony magazine.
K.Dot’s black and white portrait graces the publication at a special time in their history. This year marks 70 years of the mag being in print, so the To Pimp A Butterfly rapper felt particularly humbled to be a marker for that moment.
“I feel privileged to be part of it,” he said in Ebony’s accompanying video. “I’m one of a few rap artists to actually grace the cover. They have done a whole spectrum of controversial covers with us as a culture and identifying ourselves and the world in general.”
Take a gander at behind-the-scenes moments and the sartorial selections that’ll be featured in the issue here.
