50 Cent Name-Drops Kendrick Lamar And Chris Brown As 'Street King Immortal' Guests
The Power producer isn't finished with rap just yet...
After setting the stage with Starz television series Power, 50 Cent is making way for his sixth studio album and bringing some hot hip-hop players with him.
Street King Immortal—Fif's lost files project that has been underway since 2010—is set to feature music heavyweights like Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar and Chris Brown this go-round. Fellow G-Unit member Kidd Kidd scored placement on the album, as well.
The Queens native spoke with Hot 93.7 Hartford about behind-the-scenes moments for the project and his excitement for its release.
"I got so many different ideas and so many different pieces lined up for this record that I know it's gonna be exciting," he said.
The album's delay was largely due to disputes between 50 and Interscope Records. After two in-store release dates in 2011 and 2012, 50 hit high tensions with Interscope for unauthorized leaks from SKI. He took to Twitter to vent his frustrations, threatening the label with album cancellation until he set things straight. Now that SKI has met the rap perfectionist's standards, he's ready for more lights, camera, action.
