Rodriguez, who’s been tapped as a recurring guest star, will play concert promoter and expert hustler, Laz Delgado. Laz also takes a special interest in Cookie (played by Taraji P. Henson), a swoon-worthy idea considering their last on-screen encounter turned a friendship into a love affair.

The former CSI: Miami actor joins a star-studded list of guests scheduled to appear on Empire’s second season, including Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, Lenny Kravitz and Chris Rock.
