Big Sean Opens Recording Studio At Alma Mater In Detroit

Big Sean heads back to school

As the man behind the Originals Metro Attitude and two other adidas sneaker creations, Big Sean’s latest collaboration with the iconic shoe brand puts Detroit's children on the right foot.

The European shows of the UKnowBigSean tour kick off June 11 in Stuttgart, Germany, but the rapper made a pit stop in his hometown of Detroit just a few days before his overseas trip. With the help of adidas, Sean Don opened a recording studio at his alma mater, Cass Technical High School (June 8). The venue named “The Sean Anderson Studio of Infinite Possibilities,” spans 784-square-feet of space, The Source reports.

“I can't believe I used to rap at the lunch tables, slang my CDs in the hallways, and fast forward less than 10 years later I'm opening up my own recording studio at my old High School Cass Tech for the students! This brings me tears of Joy!” the rapper said on Instagram.

The 2,300 students of Cass Tech were blessed with the studio as an effort of the Sean Anderson Foundation, the lyricist's initiative to “assist in the education, health, safety and well-being of Detroit Area school-aged youth as well disadvantaged youth in other areas across the nation.” The foundation’s most recent campaign, It Takes One, is already in full force.

In addition to working with the rapper on building the studio, adidas featured the Cass Tech football team in their commercial, shot in February.

Will a Cass Tech student become the next Big Sean? The possibilities are infinite.

Tom Hanks Brings Mr. Rogers To Life In 'A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood' Trailer

Wearing the trademark red sweater, silver-gray hair along with what seems like a permanent smile plastered to his face, Tom Hanks fully steps into the role of the beloved television icon Mr. Rogers.

In the trailer for the forthcoming film A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood, Rogers meets cynical journalist Lloyd Vogel (Matthew Rhys) who's been tasked with profiling Rogers for his publication's hero issue. Yet viewers can see from the onset Vogel isn't convinced Rogers is fitting for the title.

“Please don’t ruin my childhood," This Is Us actress Susan Kelachi-Watson who plays Vogel's wife says to him.

While the trailer doesn't give too much away, as Vogel digs deeper into his profile of Rogers he begins to unearth his own unchecked demons.  "You love broken people, like me," Vogel says to Rogers.

Slated for a November 22nd release, Mr. Rogers' fans can relive once again the magic that made him who he is, while new fans can potentially discover the magic.

Jennifer Lopez Was Pleasantly Surprised By Keke Palmer's Performance In 'Hustlers'

The all-star cast of the upcoming film Hustlers features plenty of heavy hitters, but it seems Keke Palmer shines the brightest.

Speaking with Billboard last week, Jennifer Lopez dished about what fans can expect in her upcoming film. The all-female led feature was inspired in by "The Hustlers at Scores", a New York magazine article about a real-life group of former exotic dancers who teamed up to overthrow their Wall Street clientele.

While Lopez got tips from visits to the strip club and chats with Cardi B, she enjoyed Palmer's gift of improvisation. "She was great at improv, and not everybody has that knack, you know what I mean?," she said. "But they were all great. I expected Cardi to be good, I expected Lizzo to be good, but I didn't know enough about Keke. I had seen her audition tape. I did a little bit of research on her when they were thinking [about her role]. We went through so many people for that part, so many people."

Palmer kicked off her acting career at the tender age of 9, with leads in films like Akeela & The Bee, Jump In! and starred in her own series True Jackson, VP on Nickelodeon from 2008 to 2011. She's also stolen scenes in Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens and the live rendition of Grease. But it was her bubbly personality that caught Lopez's (who executively produced the film) eye.

"When I saw her -- I had watched a couple of interviews of her and stuff like that -- I was like, 'This girl has something. She has personality,'" she said. "And she was awesome. We had fun from the first scene. I was like, 'OK. We're gon' have fun!'"

Lopez recently shared with Entertainment Tonight some of her biggest challenges in the film like pole dancing.

"Learning pole dancing was probably one of the most challenging things I've ever done for a film," Lopez said. "But it was worth it. I love this character. I love this story. It's a really gritty New York story with women at the forefront -- the thing actresses dream of -- and to be able to produce it and star in it was very special."

Hustlers opens in theaters Sept. 13. Check out the trailer below.
