Fetty Wap Emotionally Overwhelmed Upon Receiving First Award Ever From Music Choice
Fetty Wap has hit early feats in his burgeoning career from topping the charts with his infectious tunes to making an electrifying appearance at Hot 97's Summer Jam Festival. But this moment is the icing on the cake.
Upon receiving his first, and surely not his last award, Music Choice honored the New Jersey native with an accolade for "The Most-Played Video Of The Year So Far" for his breakthrough track "Trap Queen."
"I never won nothing in my life before," the "RGF Island" rapper said in the video. "I thank everybody. I'm going to keep continuing doing good music," he stated before his eyes slightly filled with tears.
In a recent interview with The Boombox, Fetty said, “When you really work hard for something that you genuinely and truly love, and you don’t want it to fail, it’s a good feeling to see it do good." The young emcee continued, “Nothing but greatness is coming from this for me. I tell everybody, this isn’t even my best song. This is just the breakout for Fetty Wap. There’s going to be a lot more coming, but I’m so proud of that song. I’m proud of my engineer, proud for RGF. Without the energy and the people that’s around me, that song wouldn’t be what it was. If the song was a lie, you’d be able to tell.”
