N.W.A. Reunion Show Will Feature Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar And Schoolboy Q At 2015 BET Experience

It will be a full-on West Coast takeover at this year's BET Experience, starring Ice Cube, MC Ren, DJ Yella, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q.

Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella will hold an N.W.A. reunion performance at this year’s BET Experience concert at Staples Center (June 27). The West Coast pioneers’ coming together will commemorate the upcoming release of their highly-anticipated biopic, Straight Outta Compton on Aug 14.

Discussing the momentous hip-hop event, Ice Cube recently chopped it up with Rolling Stone about what fans can expect and whether or not they should keep their eyes peeled for Dr. Dre.

“You never know. It's like, I hope he blesses us with his presence,” he said. “But if not, I've been rockin' for a long time without anybody. So whoever shows up, I'm still gonna rock. Whoever don't show up, we still gonna rock.”

Noting that he hasn’t shared a stage with Yella since 1989 and Ren since 2000, Cube also talked about the group’s aggressive catalog. Citing anthems like “F--k Tha Police,” the rapper/actor asserted that the themes from the group’s 1988 debut are still relevant, making them that much easier to relay on stage.

“Same shit's going on. It doesn't change with the calendar,” he said. “So it's easy. The rage is still there because the problems are still there. I've always said what I need to say and that ain't never gonna change. My personal success is irrelevant to the rhymes I write and what I talk about, how I feel about society.”

As for other special appearances, fans can expect a full-on West Coast takeover.

"It's just gonna be a great night," Cube said. "We're gonna be there with Snoop, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q. It's just gonna be one of those 'I wish I were there in L.A. nights.' And we're gonna rock that shit, no problem."

Won’t be in L.A. for the BET Experience show? You might want to set your DVR.

Daniel Kaluuya And Lakeith Stanfield To Star In Fred Hampton Movie

Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield are reportedly being considered for roles in the upcoming film, Jesus Was My Homeboy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie, which will be produced by Ryan Coogler and distributed by Warner Bros., will depict the assassination of Black Panther activist Fred Hampton.

If the ink dries on the deal, Kaluuya will play Hampton. Stanfield will play William O’Neal, the FBI informant who went undercover and infiltrated the Black Panthers in order to obtain information that assisted in Hampton's assassination. Jesus Was My Homeboy will look at the rise and death of Hampton through the perspective of FBI informant O'Neal.

As previously noted, Fred Hampton was an activist and organizer of the Black Panther Party who quickly climbed the ranks to become its chairman of the Illinois chapter and deputy chairman. He was murdered in 1969 at the age of 21, by a tactical unit with orders from the FBI and Chicago Police Department.

Shaka King will reportedly direct the film and and produce from a script he wrote with Will Berson. Jesus Was My Homeboy does not have a release date at this time.

HBO Releases 'Leaving Neverland' Trailer And March Premiere Date

Since the reveal of a contentious documentary on Michael Jackson was announced, the conversation surrounding HBO's upcoming project has continued to increase. Now, the powerhouse cable network unveiled the Leaving Neverland trailer which depicts the recollections of two men who were reportedly sexually abused when they were boys by Jackson.

Within the trailer, James Safechuck and Wade Robson discuss certain moments that they held as secrets for decades. "He told me if they ever found out what we were doing, he and I would go to jail for the rest of our lives," Wade says in the visual. The Dan Reed-directed film also features interviews with the two men's families and significant others.

In response to the doc's Sundance premiere, Jackson's family issued a statement calling out the reel's developers. "The creators of this film were not interested in the truth," the family's statement reads. "They never interviewed a single solitary soul who knew Michael except the two perjurers and their families. That is not journalism, and it's not fair, yet the media are perpetuating these stories."

Watch the trailer below ahead of its two-night premiere on March 3-4.

Boyfriend Suspected Of Killing Girlfriend And Her Son Jumps In Front Of Train

An ex-con who's suspected of brutally beating his girlfriend and her son to death committed suicide by jumping in front of Metro-North train six hours after the murders.

According to The New York Daily News, Hector Cruz, 51, is believed to have stabbed and used a workout weight to bludgeon Marisol Ortiz, 51 and her 14-year-old son Alanche del Orbe in their Bronx apartment.

Ortiz's 21-year-old daughter, Chantal del Orbe, found the bodies after returning home from a friend's house. Before bursting into tears, Chantal hung a birthday banner over a makeshift memorial created for her brother who was killed a day before his 15th birthday.

“He was sweet all the time,” she said of her brother. “It was all love in that house.”

Grieving friends, family and those in the neighborhood say they have no doubt Cruz is the killer. “Go in peace my aunt with my nephew. Wow, I feel so powerless why do things like this have to happen. My God. Mourning. What a great loss," Emiluz Ortiz wrote on Facebook.

Cruz was released from prison in 2016 after serving seven years for first-degree assault, and while speaking with the Daily News Chantal said Cruz showcased signs of possessiveness.

“He was a bit jealous. He was strange. He would look through (Ortiz’s) phone but he was never aggressive. He always said he wanted the family united,” she said. “He never really convinced me. Days before he was acting strange.”

The crime was so severe, Ortiz’s cousin Haydee Leonardo said it's affected the funeral.

“They’re going to cremate the bodies because they were told that their faces were so brutally beaten, you can’t see who they were. You can’t see their faces,” he said.

Cruz was reportedly killed by a northbound Metro-North train at the Hartsdale station Sunday morning (Feb. 17) at 9:45 AM.
