Sanaa Lathan To Star As Lead In Film Adaption Of ‘Flyy Girl’

Sanaa Lathan is about to make all our dreams come true with her latest film project.

The Best Man: Holiday actress took to her Instagram account Wednesday to announce she’ll star and executive produce the lead in the film adaptation of Omar Tyree’s classic novel “Flyy Girl.”

Released in 1993, “Flyy Girl” is a coming-of-age story that follow Tracy Ellison, a sassy, confident teen from Philadelphia who must find herself while trying to avoid the pitfalls that oftentimes trap a young girl.

Lathan, who is starring alongside Michael Ealy in the new suspenseful thriller The Perfect Guy hopes ‘Flyy Girl’ will be the avalanche needed to tell more diverse stories.

“So many people have grown up on this series and I’m looking forward to bringing Tracy Ellison’s story to life through film,” Lathan said. “It’s my hope to continue to help bring diverse stories to the big screen.”

Perfect. Now if Sanaa could whip up some magic to get “The Coldest Winter Ever” on screen, she’d be bae for life.
