Prince could care less what everyone else is doing in the music world. His songs will never follow the trends bestowed onto fans by major record labels and mainstream radio. Take his new song for instance, “HARDROCKLOVER,” it merges R&B and rock so effortlessly that it makes wonder why there isn’t a musical simply named “Prince” yet.

“Sade and Babyface / R&B ain’t got no place,” he sings. “Put some hard rock on / You better cover your ears ’cause you’re ’bout to hear a woman just scream,” Prince sings on the track. With his band 3rdEyeGirl providing the sounds, the icon makes another splash with his latest jam.
