ASCAP And America SCORES Put Students In The Studio For Inspirational Track “Freedom And Confidence”

As ASCAP’s Songwriter Residency preps Volume 7 of their free music project next month, its partnership with after-school program America SCORES is gifting elementary and middle school students in under-resourced neighborhoods the chance to rock the mic.

Song scribe Andrea Martin, who has penned for the likes of En Vogue and Leona Lewis, recently linked with 16 NYC students of The East Fordham Academy of the Arts to create the inspirational track “Freedom And Confidence.” After putting the pen to the pad for one afternoon, the talented bunch recorded the song at Platinum Sound Studios.

Watch the students work in the booth here and stream ASCAP Songwriter Residency: Volume 7 here when it drops Sept. 25. The program is funded by The ASCAP Foundation.
